Remove unwanted pages from a PDF document instantly.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Review your page list carefully in a PDF viewer before entering page numbers — page numbering in the PDF file starts at 1 and matches the viewer's page counter in the bottom bar or navigation panel.
  • Use comma-separated page numbers to remove multiple non-consecutive pages in a single operation: for example, enter "3, 7, 12" to remove three specific pages in one pass.
  • For removing a continuous range of pages (such as an unwanted appendix), use a hyphen: "45-60" removes all pages from 45 through 60 inclusive in one operation.
  • Download the output PDF immediately after processing and verify the correct pages have been removed by checking the page count and spot-reading key pages in the output file.
  • If you need to remove pages from a password-protected PDF, unlock it first using the Unlock PDF tool, perform the removal, and re-protect it using the Protect PDF tool if needed.
  • Keep the original PDF file until you are fully satisfied with the page-removed version — the removal is permanent and cannot be undone in the tool.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Entering page numbers for the pages you want to KEEP instead of the pages you want to REMOVE — the tool removes the pages you specify. Double-check your page list before confirming.
  • Not verifying the total page count of the output PDF — if you removed 5 pages from a 20-page document, the output should have 15 pages. A mismatch indicates an error in your page number input.
  • Using 0-based page numbering — the tool uses 1-based page numbering where page 1 is the first page of the document, matching how PDF viewers display page numbers.
  • Removing pages from a protected PDF without first unlocking it — encrypted PDFs cannot be processed. Use Unlock PDF first.
  • Accidentally entering a page number that does not exist — entering a page number beyond the document's total page count will cause an error. Verify page count before entering range values.
  • Overwriting the original file with the page-removed version before verifying the output — always save the reduced file as a separate document first and verify it before discarding the original.
